Bryan C. Ihnen, CPA, CVA

Bryan C. Ihnen, CPA, CVA joined BLPC in 1985 and is currently a manager. Bryan manages audits, assists with some of the firm`s more complex tax work, and has a major role in the firm`s business valuation practice.

Bryan graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.

Bryan is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, Minnesota Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He is a past member of the Iowa Society of CPA's Taxation Committee and is currently a District Committee Member and a past District Commissioner and a past Chairman of the Hawk Eye District Training Committee of the Mid Iowa Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Laura J. Helm, CPA

Laura J. Helm, CPA joined BLPC in 1989 and is currently an audit manager. Laura oversees some of the firm`s more complex audits and has particular expertise in the governmental and nonprofit industries.

Laura graduated with honors from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Laura is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, and is a Certified Government Financial Manager and served on the Board and Finance Committee of Children and Families of Iowa.

Renee S. Rinard, CPA

Renee S. Rinard, CPA joined BLPC in 2001 following the merger with Weber, Steele & Co., L.L.P. Renee is currently a manager with the firm and works with a wide variety of clients and enjoys the challenges of both audit and tax.

Renee graduated from Luther College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting.

Renee is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, Iowa Foster and Adoptive Parents Association, and P.E.O. She has served as both treasurer and president of her P.E.O. chapter. Renee is an active volunteer at church and a foster-adoptive parent.

James R. Pistillo, CPA, joined BLPC in October 2009 and is currently a senior manager. James has experience working with closely held businesses, nonprofit organizations and other manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and construction companies. James is also involved in the firm's quality control program.

James graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in management information systems.

Professionally, James is a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute (GDMLI), and currently serves on the curriculum committee of GDMLI. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Iowa Society of CPAs.

James enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, following Nebraska Cornhusker football, travel, reading and playing golf.

John N. Koppes, CPA

John N. Koppes, CPA joined BLPC in 1998 and is currently a consultant and supervisor with the firm. John splits his time between performing business valuations, assisting in litigation support and other management advisory services, as well as in-charging several audit engagements.

John graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting.

John is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, and is active in the Waukee Jaycees and served on the Board of Family Community Credit Union.

Scott F. Meister, CPA

Scott F. Meister, CPA joined BLPC in 2001, following the merger with Weber, Steele & Co., L.L.P. He is currently a supervisor with the firm and works with closely-held businesses and their owners and individuals, primarily in the various areas of taxation.

Scott graduated from Morningside College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in accounting and finance.

Scott is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, Altoona Area Chamber of Commerce and Mitchellviille Chamber of Commerce.

Joe Desmond, CPA, MBA

Joe Desmond, CPA, MBA joined BLPC in 2002 and is currently a supervisor with the firm. He provides audit and tax services for clients in the manufacturing, construction, real estate, and nonprofit industries.

Joe graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration, with an emphasis in accounting.

Joe is currently a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, and the Missouri State of Society of CPAs. He also serves as a board member on a nonprofit which helps the elderly and other needy individuals.

Joe enjoys the outdoors along with football, basketball, racquetball, and spending time with his family.

Stefanie E. Lovin, CPA

Stefanie E. Lovin, CPA joined BLPC in 2004 and is currently a supervisor of our general services staff.

Stefanie graduated with honors from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.

Stefanie is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, and is a member of the ISCPA's Member and Membership Benefits Committee.

Stefanie enjoys traveling, scrap booking, and spending time with family and friends.

Katie R. Roth joined BLPC in 2008 and is currently a member of our general services staff.

Austin M. Tolander

Austin M. Tolander joined BLPC in 2011 and is currently a member of our general services staff.

Austin graduated with honors from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance and a Master of Accounting degree.

Austin is a member of the American institute of CPAs ans the Iowa Society of CPAs.

Austin enjoys playing golf, softball, and volleyball. He also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Michelle R. Leonard

Michelle R. Leonard joined BLPC in the summer of 2011 and is currently a member of our general services staff.

Michelle graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Masters in Business Administration.

Michelle is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Michelle enjoys running, horseback riding, water skiing, and spending time with family and friends.

Michael (Mike) R. Helm, CPA, CSEP

Michael (Mike) R. Helm, CPA, CSEP joined BLPC in 1997 and is the senior manager of the firm`s tax practice. Mike graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting and finance.

Mike is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, and currently serves as the Chair of the Iowa Society of CPA's Taxation Committee. He is also a member of West Des Moines Tax Forum, a member of the American Institute of CPA's Tax Section, and a board member for the Des Moines Estate Planners and Financial Planning Association of Iowa.

Mike spends countless hours in boats and treestands developing new tax strategies and every now and then will catch a fish - or see a deer! He enjoys hunting and three-dimensional archery. He is a past chairman of Ducks Unlimited of Mid-Iowa and is involved with various other conservation-related organizations.

Denise E. Baldwin, CPA

Denise E. Baldwin, CPA joined BLPC in 1999 and is the staff supervisor of the firm`s tax practice. Her areas of emphasis include corporate, individual, and state taxation. Prior to joining BLPC, Denise worked in public accounting and private industry, specializing in various areas of taxation.

Denise graduated with honors from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.

Denise is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Iowa Society of CPAs, and the Des Moines Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants and currently serves as the CPE Coordinator.

Denise enjoys cross-stitch, collecting teddy bears, and following Iowa State athletics.

Lisa R. Brucker, CPA

Lisa R. Brucker, CPA joined BLPC in 1998 and is currently an Accounting Services Supervisor with the firm. Lisa has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries and has significant experience working with nonprofit organizations, including tax preparation.

Lisa graduated with honors from Drake University with Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in accounting and finance.

Lisa is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Iowa Society of CPAs. She is on the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants` Career Awareness Committee and is a mentor in the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountant's "Accounting Ties" program for college accounting majors. She also volunteers at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Dawn L. Reseland joined BLPC in 2009 and is currently an Accounting Services Supervisor with the firm.

Dawn graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting.

Jody A. Jones

Jody A. Jones joined BLPC in 1998. Jody performs payroll, bookkeeping, and general ledger services for a variety of industries, with an emphasis in restaurant and professional services industries.

Jody graduated with honors from Southwestern Community College (Creston, Iowa) with an Associate of Arts degree in accounting.

Jody is a member of Pathway Church and does volunteer work for Campus Christian Fellowship. Hobbies include crafts, cooking, and being with friends.

Alice C. Kamberg

Alice C. Kamberg joined BLPC in 2002. Alice performs payroll, bookkeeping, and general ledger services for a variety of clients. She also assists with client billings and payments.

Alice graduated from Des Moines Area Community College with an Associate of Science degree in accounting.

Alice's outside interests include reading, writing, sewing, and home repair and remodeling.

Denise Parmelee joined BLPC in 2005. She provides payroll, bookkeeping, and general ledger services for several clients via a remote connection.

Denise graduated with honors from AIB College of Business in 1996 with an Associate degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

In her spare time Denise enjoys time with her family, hiking in Glacier National Park, and camping.

Rhonda E. Carmichael joined BLPC in 2006. Rhonda performs payroll, bookkeeping, and general ledger services for a variety of clients.

Rhonda graduated from Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, Iowa with an Associate of Arts degree.

Michael J. Johnson joined BLPC in 2008. Michael performs payroll, bookkeeping, and general ledger services for several clients.

Michael graduated with highest honors from AIB College of Business in 2008 with an Associate in Applied Science degree in accounting. Michael is continuing his education, working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting at AIB College of Business.

Michael enjoys playing sand volleyball, slow-pitch softball, and ultimate frisbee. Michael also enjoys following Chicago Cubs baseball and Iowa State athletics.

Ginger K. Doumas

Ginger K. Doumas began her employment in 1980 with BLPC's predecessor firm, Augustine & Co. and is the firm's Office Manager. Ginger is responsible for the firm's accounting, payroll, time and billing, and coordinating much of the firm's administration.

Mary M. Rodgers

Mary M. Rodgers began her employment in 1981 with BLPC`s predecessor firm, Augustine & Co. Mary splits duties between coordinating and performing the firm`s secretarial functions, assisting with the firm`s administration, and maintaining continuing education records for professional staff.

Shannon M. Enfield began her employment in 1981 with BLPC`s predecessor firm, Augustine & Co. While Shannon has served the firm in a variety of areas over the years, currently her primary responsibility is managing the tax processing software and providing support to the firm`s tax department.
